Know Your Enemy, Know Your Technology: Managing Interference During Avalanche Rescue
Electromagnetic interference can shorten reception range, destabilise search indications, and even create ghost signals. The familiar 20 cm and 50 cm rules are useful starting points—but in a dynamic search, distance alone is not enough. This paper proposes a six-step process for testing, recognising, and responding to interference.
